Wisconsin Public Television presents the premiere broadcast of “Wisconsin Hometown Stories: Door County” at 8PM on Monday, June 27th. Door County residents will have a chance to see the full documentary ahead of the statewide broadcast at two free community premiere screenings, 7PM Saturday, June 11th, at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall, and 7PM, Thursday, June 16th, at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek. A third free screening will be held at 1:30PM, Sunday, July 10th, at the Brussels Community Center. The film’s producer, David Hestad, will offer insights into the show’s production and answer questions from viewers a the screenings. The eighth installment of WPT’s ongoing local history project, “Wisconsin Hometown Stories: Door County” shares tales of tourism, cherries, art and land preservation that capture the history of the region. Film, archival images, aerial footage and interviews with historians, local citizens and experts tell the unique stories of Door County. “Wisconsin Hometown Stories: Door County” is produced under a partnership between the Wisconsin Historical Society and Wisconsin Public Television.
