Threatening Call Leads to Lockdown at Kewaunee Schools

A threatening call to the Kewaunee School District Thursday morning, mentioning a firearm, led to a lockdown, and an eventual early release from school in Kewaunee. Students who ride the bus or drive, were released beginning at 12:45PM. Students not on busses were released to family members or emergency contacts as of 1:15PM through a security checkpoint.

The Algoma & Luxemburg-Casco School Districts also entered precautionary lockdowns during the event.

Authorities are investigating the call and more information about the incident is expected to be released.
