Monday in the early afternoon an emergency call was made from Cave Point County Park when a woman who was swimming had injured herself while jumping off the cliff into the lake. Around 12:30 pm, the Sturgeon Bay Fire Department was paged to the scene along with the Jacksonport Rescue Boat. Also on the scene were Door County EMS and first responders from the Sevastopol area. Jacksonport Fire Chief Nathan LeClair tells us more…
Not having strong waves yesterday helped ease the danger for the rescue operation. The woman appeared to be in her 40’s and her name has not been released, but it was reported she is expected to recover. The entire rescue response took approximately 45 minutes.
