There was a house fire with one fatality in the City of Sturgeon Bay Saturday afternoon. At approximately 3:50PM, an emergency call reported fire in a home on the 1100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. The Sturgeon Bay Fire Department arrived with the Sturgeon Bay Police Department and assistance from Door County E.M.S.. The police have released a statement saying that one unresponsive male was removed from the burning home. Life saving efforts were used in attempts to resuscitate the man, but he was soon announced deceased at the scene. His identity is currently being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
The fire is now being investigated by the Wisconsin State Fire Marshal’s office and the Sturgeon Bay Fire Department with assistance from the Brown County Medical Examiner’s office. No further information is available at this time, and we will report more on this house fire fatality as more information is made available.
