Montevideo Named Sturgeon Bay Fire Chief

It was in early February when Sturgeon Bay Fire Chief Tim Dietman announced his retirement. Shortly after that announcement, the city’s Police & Fire Commission met to name then Assistant Fire Chief Kalin Montevideo as the city’s Interim Fire Chief. It has now been announced that after the selection and interview process they have chosen Montevideo to serve as Fire Chief.
Montevideo has served on the city’s Fire Department since 1999, first as a line firefighter and then as Assistant Fire Chief. Commission Chair Wayne Spritka says that throughout her career and through the interview process, she exhibited the leadership qualities they believe are necessary to carry the department forward. Fire Chief Montevideo says it is now her privilege to lead the department. She endeavors to do her best to carry on the department’s legacy of providing efficient and high quality service to the city and outlying towns of Sturgeon Bay and Sevastopol.
