The Spring Election isn’t until April, but there has been a flurry of activity in the City of Sturgeon Bay where a number of individuals are circulating nomination papers.
With Mayor Thad Birmingham’s decision not to seek re-election, two candidates have surfaced. Doctor David Ward, currently the District 3 Alderman, is seeking signatures for Mayor. Also making the rounds is Shawn Fairchild.
In the 1st Aldermanic District, where Kelly Catarozoli is the incumbent, Door County Board Supervisor Helen Bacon, and Dawn Goodban have both taken out nomination papers.
In District 3, former Door County Emergency Services Director Dan Williams, and Sean Linnan are circulating papers.
In District 5, incumbent Barb Allmann has decided not to seek re-election. Gary Nault, a retired firefighter, is pursuing the position.
Finally, District 7 incumbent Laurel Hauser has taken out papers and so has Kirsten Mcfarlin.
The deadline to file papers is 5PM on Wednesday, January 2nd. If a primary is needed, it will be held on February 19th.
