Door County Republicans favored Green Bay businessman Mike Gallagher as their standard bearer in the November election for Congress in the eighth district. Gallagher, a former Marine captain, led the field of three in the Republican primary with 2354 votes. State Senator Frank La See was a distant second in the balloting with 770 votes. Terry McNulty, President of the Forestville Village Board, finished with 594 votes. Gallagher, who was the top Republican vote-getter district-wide, will face Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson in the election in November.
