Plans are underway to create a Citizens Advisory Committee for the Southern Door School District. The board of education has made a commitment to an ongoing, meaningful engagement with the broader community. The purpose of the committee is to improve the education of district students by advising the school board regarding educational and other issues facing the district. Members will study and deliberate problems, issues and questions of concern and report the results of their studies to the school board. The Citizens Advisory Committee will meet on the third Monday of each month from 6 to 8:30PM. The initial commitment will be for for about six months with the potential for longer service. The first meeting will consider community engagement on Monday, February 19th.
