The Gibraltar Board of Education has made it official. Doctor Gereon Methner is the new Secondary Principal for the school in Fish Creek. The board approved the hiring of the 34-year old Associate Principal and At-Risk Coordinator for the Shawano School District Monday evening. Methner holds a doctorate from Bowling Green University. During his career in education, he has taught high school english and and history and french. Superintendent Doctor Tina Van Meer says he will officially begin his new duties in July. The Secondary Principal position has been open at Gibraltar since November when then Principal Kirk Knudsen resigned. The board of education initially interviewed five people for the job before settling on Methner.
