Students at Sturgeon Bay Schools were sent home early Thursday after a water main leak at the high school made it impossible to serve hot lunch. Superintendent Dan Tjurnagle said a repair crew worked into the early morning hours, but were stymied by the amount of water and mud encountered. Breakfast items were handed out as usual at each school since most were of the pre-packaged variety. The water leak was eventually tracked down and repaired. Tjurnagle thanked the many individuals who worked to get the district’s water supply back online as quickly as possible. He said everything will be back to normal Friday.
