Jaroshes Will be Maifest Parade Marshals

A couple who have dedicated much of their lives to Jacksonport will be honored Saturday morning as parade marshals for the Maifest Parade. Still active in their retirement years, Sue and Joe Jarosh invested more than 30 years into their Craft Cottage, before selling the business in 2015. They were instrumental in the founding of the Jacksonport Business Association and were actively involved in many community organizations. Their efforts on behalf of tourism were recognized in 2014 when Sue and Joe were named local and national recipients of awards in the Certified Tourism Ambassador program. As many others have found, the couple is busier in retirement than they were before. Sue has dabbled in writing and is in charge of the Jacksonport Farmers Market and Joe lends his energy and leadership skills to the Jacksonport Polar Bear Club, Leadership Door county, and, the Jacksonport Area Business Association. The pace of their lives will slow down a bit Saturday morning, as the couple takes a leisurely drive through the lakeside community they love so much.
The Maifest parade steps off at 10:30 Saturday morning on Highway 57 in Jacksonport. For more information check out www.jacksonport.org/maifest
