Jacksonport Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday

It’s been called a fun-loving, eclectic event that celebrates Thanksgiving Day and helps others in the process. We’re talking about the turkey day parade Thursday morning in Jacksonport. Open to anyone, the event kicks off at 10:30AM. Parade viewers can expect the same zany blend of floats and characters mixed in with a traditional color guard a Jacksonport fire truck, and horses, goats and other farm animals. Santa is also expected to make an appearance. A $100 prize is awarded to the best entry. Be at the Jacksonport Fire Station at 9:45AM Thursday if you intend to participate. The parade starts at the Jacksonport Fire Station, takes a right on Highway 57 to Mike’s Port Pub, where it turns around and heads back, ending up at Island Fever Rum Bar, where participants can warm up and tell tall tales after the parade.
