Investigation into Cut Brake Line on Sevastopol Football Bus

Investigators from the Door County Sheriff’s Department will be studying a videotape of the parking area at Gibraltar School in Fish Creek in an effort to determine how a brake line on a school bus carrying the Sevastopol football team may have been cut. The incident, which was discovered on September 2nd, came to light after the bus driver noticed that the brakes didn’t feel right and then went out altogether as the vehicle and its passengers were leaving Fish Creek shortly before 10PM that night. The driver was able to stop the vehicle and a second bus was sent to bring the team back to Institute. A check of the right brake line revealed that it had been cut three quarters of the way through. Anyone who may have information on the incident is urged to contact the Door County Sheriff’s Department by phone 746-2400 or call the anonymous crime tip line at (920)-746-2436.
