The Sturgeon Bay Board of Education has selected Jessica Holland to fill a vacant seat on the school board. Superintendent Dan Tjurnagle said five people expressed interest in serving on the board of education after former board-member Jacob Schultz resigned to take a position in the Philippines. Interviews were held on Wednesday. Holland has worked for the Door County Aging and Disability Resource Center/Aging Program as a Disability Benefit Specialist for three years. She is married and has one child who is beginning to experience school in Sturgeon Bay. Superintendent Tjurnagle says Holland will be sworn-in at the school board’s next regular meeting on September 21st. The seat will be up for election in April.
