Group Camping at State Parks Returns July 13th

The Wisconsin DNR will now begin to allow group camping again for groups of 50 or less with reservations on Monday July 13th. Also, they will begin placing camp hosts at state park campgrounds, and select state parks will again be selling firewood to campers. Both Peninsula and Potawatomi State Parks are among those offering firewood. Special park operation conditions remain in place to ensure the safety of both staff and visitors. Some other changes campers and visitors will experience starting July 13th include limited special events permitted with up to 50 people and unreserved open-air shelters with capacity limits and provisions for social distancing. Capacity limits remain in effect, and due to high demand, many properties will likely reach their predetermined capacity limits. When this happens, properties will close until existing visitors leave. Also open public facilities like bathrooms and open-air shelters will have posted capacity limits. Currently most state parks and forests do not have garbage or recycling bins, so they are asking that you please take your garbage and recyclables home with you.
