Eastern End of Ice Age Trail Moving
Currently, the eastern terminus of the Ice Age Trail is at a large glacial boulder and historical marker in a heavily wooded area next to a restroom in Potawatomi State Park. State Parks Update and Rock Island Re-Open Date
The Wisconsin DNR has informed us that starting April 30th, there will be some changes to the state park system. Playgrounds will be open. Volunteer group sizes will be increased to 50 people. The capacity for open-air shelters, amphitheaters, and outdoor group campgrounds will be increased to 100 people. Rock Island Totally Closed to the Public
Last week we reported that Rock Island State Park had closed for the remainder of 2020 due to accessibility limitations and concerns related to COVID-19. All camping reservations have been canceled and reservation holders are to be provided a full refund. Group Camping at State Parks Returns July 13th
The Wisconsin DNR will now begin to allow group camping again for groups of 50 or less with reservations on Monday July 13th. Also, they will begin placing camp hosts at state park campgrounds, and select state parks will again be selling firewood to campers. WI State Park Campgrounds Reopen June 10th
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is reopening state campgrounds this Wednesday June 10th. There will be special safety conditions including automated touchless check-in, new educational signs on responsible recreation, and park offices will remain closed to the public. Wisconsin State Parks Return to Regular Hours. Rock Island State Park Remains Closed.
The Wisconsin D.N.R. has informed us that beginning May 23rd, all Wisconsin state parks will return to regular operating hours of 6:00 am to 11:00 pm seven days a week.
