The Wisconsin DNR has announced a virtual public information session regarding progress with the observation tower in Potawatomi State Park, during which they will be sharing the next steps for the tower project. The tower was closed in December of 2017 after engineers found unsafe conditions with significant wood decay in the structure. At 6PM on Thursday January 12th, the chosen engineering company for the project, Graef, will be presenting their design option plans they have developed. Afterwords, the DNR will welcome public feedback on which design option is preferred. Following the comment session, Governor Evers will be including the most popular design option as a project in the 2023 capital budget.
