Gibraltar DECA Competitors Awarded

Eight Gibraltar marketing education students earned outstanding awards at the 2016 DECA district level career development conference held last Saturday in Suamico. DECA is an international student organization developing future business leaders in marketing, entrepreneurship and management. The buying and merchandising team of seniors Audrey Sitte and Colin Strege medaled in the channel management role play event. Senior Ian Bennett competed in the restaurant series, earning medals in the role play events for customer relations and operations. Junior Brandon Emery-Janzen picked up medals in the marketing management series marketing exam and selling role play event. Seniors Bradley Prust and Derik Beard earned third place overall in the financial services team event with two medals for the finance exam and financial analysis. Junior Connor Moore medaled in two out of three events and earned a second place finish overall in the business finance series, receiving awards for the finance exam and finance operations role play. Junior Jon Kordon finished in first place in the restaurant marketing competition, with medals for the marketing exam, customer relations and finance operations role play events. Six students will advance to the state career development conference March 8th through the 10th in Lake Geneva. The international competition is in Nashville, Tennessee in April.
