There was fatal 2-vehicle crash near Baileys Harbor Sunday afternoon. At this point, the initial investigation reveals that an 83 year-old Baileys Harbor man was northbound on Highway 57 in his Dodge pickup truck, attempting to turn westbound on County Road “E” at the north end of the Maxwelton Braes golf course. At that time his vehicle struck a southbound Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by a 23 year-old Sturgeon Bay man. The Baileys Harbor man and his passenger were not injured in the crash, however the Sturgeon Bay man, now identified as 23 year-old Bradley Jordan, sustained serious injuries. Lifesaving measures were administered on scene before an ambulance transported him to the Door County Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased. That area of Highway 57 was closed off for almost 4 ½ hours while the Wisconsin State Patrol Traffic Reconstruction Unit investigated the incident, and the crash still remains under investigation.
