Elementary School Upgrades the Focus of Algoma Referendum

Voters in the Algoma School District will be asked to approve a $4.86 million referendum in the spring election on April 5th. Algoma Superintendent Nick Cochart says the elementary school is the focus of the proposed project…

Plans call for a mechanical conversion, as well as renovations, additions and other improvements at the elementary school…

The Algoma School District has seen increased enrollment over the last few years and Cochart thinks that is a trend that will continue into the future…

Cochart says something he has been asked many times is how a yes vote for the referendum and decreasing taxes can coexist, to get that answer he says, we need to go back about twenty years…

A forum on the project and referendum is being held at 6PM on Tuesday, March 29th, at the Algoma Performing Arts Center.
