The Rotary Club of Sturgeon Bay will once again award scholarships to selected 2016 graduates from Door County high schools and the Robert Muckian Fund will sponsor vocational scholarships. The academic scholarships will be awarded to students in the upper 50% of their high school class planning to pursue a full-time course of studies at an accredited college, university or state-operated technical school. Students who demonstrate excellence in service to others in their community as well as outstanding ability in their chosen career area will be selected for the four year “service above self” scholarships. The Rotary Club of Sturgeon Bay is partnering with Write on Door County in offering essay-writing assistance to any student who desires help with the essay portion of the scholarships. These scholarships will range from $1,000 to $2,500 and are funded by the Rotary Club of Sturgeon Bay and its charitable trust. The deadline for students to apply is Tuesday, March 15th. Last year, more than $25,000 in scholarships was awarded.
