In just about a week, teams will be coming together at John Miles County Park in Sturgeon Bay to take part in the annual fundraising event for the American Cancer Society, the Relay For Life. The theme for the 2016 event is “Paint Your World Purple.” At 6PM on June 10th, the opening ceremony and survivors lap commences. Master of ceremonies duties will be shared by Miss Door County, Hope Copisky and Miss Door County Outstanding Teen, Gracen Spritka. The guest speaker is Marcy Godlewski, NP of Green Bay Oncology. The relay this years features a silent auction, music by The Modern Day Drifters, special activities such as a theme lap, musical chairs, a pie eating contest and an artistic creation showcase, and the luminaria ceremony and closing ceremony beginning at dusk. Canned goods will also be collected for the Feed My People food pantry. The Door County Relay For Life, on Friday, June 10th, ends at 10PM.
