A seat on the Door County Board has opened up with the resignation of District 13 Supervisor Kathy Schultz. The resignation is effective Monday, August 12th. Schultz, who was Sturgeon Bay Clerk/Treasurer in Sturgeon Bay before retiring, said she was leaving for health reasons. District 13 encompasses Wards 13 and 14 in Sturgeon Bay, representing about 1,300 residents. Those interested in being considered for appointment to the vacant seat must submit a letter of interest to Door County Board Chairman, David Lienau, in care of the County Administrator, 421 Nebraska Street, Sturgeon Bay, or email loriholtz@co.door.wi.us. Letters of interest must be received by 4PM on Thursday, August 29th. Following a vetting process, County Board Chairman Lienau will nominate a person to fill the vacant 13th District Supervisory position. The nomination is subject to confirmation by the full Door County Board. The successful nominee will serve for the remainder of the unexpired term (April 2020).
