Death’s Door Maritime Museum Celebration on 4th of July

A special celebration of the renaming of the Door County Maritime Museum facility in Gills Rock, as well as the unveiling of a bronze statue honoring the northern Door County fishing industry and traditions, will be held on the 4th of July. There will be free admission to the “Death’s Door Maritime Museum,” from 2 to 5PM. The renaming and statue unveiling ceremony festivities begin at 2PM and the ceremony itself will follow at 3PM. Speakers include Executive Director Amy Paul, Mark Weborg, representing the organization’ s board of directors, congressman Mike Gallagher, and Mary Ott Davidson, statue artist. After the unveiling ceremony, museum volunteers will be selling whitefish sandwiches at the Gills Rock 4th of July fireworks celebration.
