Civility Project Brings Door County Talks to the DCA

The new Door County Talks series provides its first presentation at 10AM on Saturday, January 12th, at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek. The free lecture features Kelli Strickland who will comment on “Building Community and Common Ground Through the Arts.” Strickland, an arts leader and educator, currently serves as the Executive and Artistic Director of the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts. She will explore the role that fine and performing arts play in building civic pride, bridging differences, and, healing community trauma.
Door County Talks replaces the Saint Norbert College Distinguished Lecture Series, which has been presented at the Door Community Auditorium annually for about ten years. Cari Lewis, Executive Director at the auditorium in Fish Creek, says the program involving the college in De Pere was being evaluated when the Door County Civility Project entered the picture…

Lewis says the five Door County Talks lectures will feature interesting topics under one theme…

More information about the series and other programming is available at the DCA box office by calling 1(920)-868-2728 or online at dcauditorium.org. The lectures, in the cozy fireside lobby, are free to the public, but freewill donations are encouraged.
