As we inch closer to election day on Tuesday, November 8th, office-holders, challengers and their surrogates are doing their best to get voters to listen to their message. Candidates for assembly in the first district will have a ready made opportunity to do so on Wednesday, October 12th during a forum conducted by the League of Women Voters of Door County. Doctor Joel Kitchens, a Republican, will be joined by his challenger, Democrat Lynn Utesch for the program in the Southern Door Community Auditorium from 7-8:30PM. The Southern Door Auditorium was chosen for the forum to encourage as many participants from Door, Kewaunee and Brown counties to attend. Time will be set aside for opening statements, then questions from the audience will be offered for both candidates to answer. While not a debate, the forum provides the opportunity for voters to ask questions and come away better informed to make a choice at the polls in November.
