Newman Catholic beat Sevastopol, 26-6, in a non-conference 8-player football game in Wausau on Thursday Night. The Fighting Cardinals (3-0) led 14-0 at the half and 20-0 after three quarters and Ben Bates threw two touchdown passes to Joe Stephan and another to Elliot Samuels. The Pioneers (2-1) only score came with 9:41 remaining when Jeremy Jorns recovered a fumble and rumbled into the endzone. Bates finished with 264 yards passing for Newman Catholic and Samuels had 12 catches for 136 yards and Kasey Kalafice added 90 yards rushing in the second half. Nathan Stenzel rushed to 92 yards and added 88 yards passing.
