Clippers, Storm Suffer Losses

The Sturgeon Bay soccer team lost to University School of Milwaukee, 4-1, in a WIAA Division 4 State semi-final on Friday.  The Wildcats scored a pair of goals early before Eli Dietzel scored for the Clippers on a penalty kick in the 29th minute.  University School added a pair a goals in the second half as they limited Sturgeon Bay to just 4 shots on goal.  The Wildcats will play Amery for the State title on Saturday Night.

The Kewaunee football beat lost a WIAA Division 5 playoff game to Stratford, 42-12, on Friday Night.  The Tigers (10-2) scored on a 65 yard touchdown run by Kade Ehrike and the second play of the game and it was 19-0 by the end of the first quarter as Chase Flink and Max Schwabe added touchdown runs.  After trailing 35-0 at the half, the Storm (11-1) scored on their opening drive of the second half on a 42 yard td run from Owen Kudick and Ryan Carmichael threw a 5 yard scoring pass to McCoy Walechka in the closing seconds.  Stratford will play Spencer/Columbus Catholic in the State semi-finals.
