WDOR News has learned that Leo Zipperer, who has served in leadership positions on the county and town level in Door County, has announced that he will not seek another term as Sevastopol Town Chairman. Zipperer, who is 75, has served on the town board for for close to 20 years. A former Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper, Zipperer also spent 28 years on the Door County Board of Supervisors, including 14 years as chairman. He retired from the county board in April. Many of the improvements that have been seen in recent years on the town and county level happened during Zipperer’s watch.
