A community effort to build a playground near the Sturgeon Bay YMCA program center went off like clockwork Saturday as close to 200 people came together to get the job done. Led by a large donation by Baylake Bank and with support from the national non-profit Kaboom, the Y was able to move ahead with the project on the ten acre site nearby. The playground facing 19th Place is part of a master plan for Peterson Park which also includes construction of rest room facilities, a walking path, a small amphitheater, an additional sports field and a prairie garden.
