YMCA Approaching Fundraising Goal

The Door County YMCA has reached the $1.3 million mark of its goal of $1.5 million needed toward phase two capital improvements at the YMCA Northern Door Program Center in Fish Creek. The news comes on the heels of completion of phase one of the project, a $750,000 expansion and upgrade to the mechanical room servicing the aquatic center, completed last year. Tom Beerntsen, the Door County YMCA Chief Executive Officer, says the final leg of the fundraising effort also includes a challenge gift that, if matched, will make it possible to complete the 3,500 square foot lifestyle center project…

In addition to the new program space for cardio and free weight equipment, phase two of the expansion project includes gym roof replacement, installation of new roof top airhandling units, renovation of the main shower rooms, and restroom updates.
