Gerald Worrick, Chief Executive Officer at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay, has been recognized as one of the top rural hospital executives in America by Becker’s Healthcare. The CEO’s featured on the top 50 list have overcome significant challenges operating rural community and critical access hospitals to lead sustainable and thriving organizations. Becker’s Healthcare accepted nominations for the list and considered leaders making a positive impact on their organizations. The CEO’s featured lead hospitals consistently recognized by the National Health Association, American Hospital Association and HIMSS as top institutions. As President and CEO at Door County Medical Center, Worrick oversees the hospital’s efforts to affiliate with Hospital Sisters Health System. Currently, the hospital staff includes more than 175 physicians at the critical access hospital and satellite clinics. Worrick also has experience in leadership roles with the American Hospital Association and served in administrative positions at medical facilities in Chicago and Eau Claire before taking his current position in Sturgeon Bay.
