Wisconsin DARE Officers Conference in Sturgeon Bay Next Week

Dozens of law enforcement officers who also act as instructors for the DARE program in Wisconsin will be in Door County next week to attend a three day conference in Sturgeon Bay. The Drug Abuse Resistance Education program once focused solely on the dangers associated with drugs and alcohol, but now has expanded its message to include the development of life skills. Neuville says the event is more than a three-day get-together. He says the officers receive solid information that is useful in their teaching efforts…

The 27th annual Wisconsin DARE Officers Annual Conference also has breakout sessions dealing with awareness of child physical and sexual abuse, crime prevention, and technical integration into the classroom. The event at Stone Harbor will be held Monday through Wednesday.
