Concern about a storm system heading in our direction has caused the contractor for a major makeover of a stretch of North 4th Avenue in Sturgeon Bay to push back the starting date by a week. Degroot, Incorporated of Green Bay had planned to get the project up and running on Monday, March 28th. Now the work won’t commence until Monday, April 4th. Like similar street upgrades in Sturgeon Bay, the city is working in conjunction with Sturgeon Bay Utilities on the replacement of sewer and water services. In addition, trees near the street will be removed as part of the list of work to be done. While the project is ongoing, residents in the neighborhood who are able to will have to access their property from nearby alleys. The contractor will try to provide on-street access to driveways each evening and during weekends, but there will be periods of time when that won’t be possible.
