Wienke’s Market, located north of Algoma, in southern Door County is voluntarily recalling all of its lines of jams and jellies. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection said the product includes butter, a well-known milk allergen that is not declared on the label. The butter was added during processing of the jams and jellies. Milk can cause reactions in people with allergies or severe sensitivity. No illnesses have been reported from consuming the product. The food is safe to consume by those who do not have an allergy or intolerance to milk. The products are sold in eight ounce and 16-ounce containers. The recall applies to products purchased before January 17th. Consumers with questions about the recall can contact Wienke’s market at 743-7014 to at recall@wienkes.com
