A Madison development firm is expected to present information on a planned unit development involving the construction of a four story multi-use facility on the west side of Sturgeon Bay during Wednesday’s meeting of the city plan commission. The development on the parcel that formerly housed the Harbor Place Shoppes at 49 Madison Avenue will consist of 34 units, and a parking area, space for shops is planned for the lower level of the building. The Harbor Place Shoppes was severely damaged in a fire in June of 2014. The structure was razed last year by property owner Thomas “Cap” Wulf. Plans for the new building were prepared for New Urban Focus, Incorporated by JLA Architects and Planners of Madison. The plan commission, which also includes a public hearing, begins at 7PM Wednesday evening in the council chambers at city hall.
