Waseda Farms Campaign Helps Boys & Girls Club & Loaves & Fishes

The Waseda Farms “You Buy We Give” campaign surpassed its goal of selling $15,000 in ground beef in January from both of its retail locations in Baileys Harbor and De Pere. As a result, the farming operation donated 100% of the proceeds of all ground beef sales last month to its campaign partners, including the Boys and Girls Club of Door County and Loaves and Fishes. Last year, Waseda Farms sold $10,000 in ground beef and donated $2,500 to each of its partner charities. This year, the campaign generated $17,000 in beef sales that will be split between four partner organizations.
Julie Davis, Chief Executive Officer of the local chapter of the Boys and Girls Club, says the donation will have a tremendous impact on the club ‘s meal program. Davis says 85 kids are fed every Monday and Thursday night at the club in Sturgeon Bay. Loaves and Fishes is a collaborative effort by several churches to serve free meals at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College on the first, third, and fourth Friday of every month.
