Visitor Bureau & DCEDC Trying to Tackle Workforce Shortage

The Door County Visitor Bureau has announced that it will be working cooperatively with the Door County Economic Development Corporation to address the severe shortage of workers locally. The tourism agency’s board of directors met earlier this month and one of the topics of discussion was the workforce issue. Jack Moneypenny, Visitor Bureau President and CEO, says each year the issue has gotten progressively worse. As part of the effort to turn things around, Moneypenny and three visitor bureau board members are now serving on the development corporation’s workforce committee. Moneypenny says the matter of seasonal housing is also being studied in conjunction with the workforce effort.
