The United Way of Door County has announced that the final number for its 2015 fundraising campaign came in at $446,762. Warren Bluhm, Volunteer President of the county United Way chapter, said the organization is grateful for the outpouring of support from the people of Door County and pleased to provide a foundation of services for people in need. Bluhm said the growth that had been hoped for had not been reached, but there is confidence that the contributions made can be used to take firm steps into the future as 2016 unfolds. Later this month, the community investment committee and board of directors will announce how the funds will be distributed to their 2016 strategic partners who will work to meet the county’s impact goals in the areas of basic needs, community wellness, health, and, alcohol and drug abuse and prevention. The goal had been $550,000. The 2015 campaign came to an end on January 7th. Go to www.unitedwaydc.com for more information on the United Way of Door County.
