Door County Sheriff Steve Delawwelle is crediting the combined work of several agencies for developing a case against a 51-year old Town of Jacksonport man on numerous drug charges. Delarwelle says the Door/Kewaunee Drug Task force was initially alerted by federal authorities in California that a US Postal package containing a quantity of heroin had been intercepted and was destined for an address in the Town of Jacksonport. On Wednesday afternoon, drug task force investigators and federal agents execute a search warrant at the suspect’s address, after he had claimed the package. A subsequent search of his bedroom turned up the heroin and quantities heroin, methamphetamine, “magic” mushrooms, prescription drugs and marijuana, along with a digital scale and a firearm. Sheriff Delarwelle expressed appreciation to his deputies and agents of the DEA Green Bay field office and the Green Bay Postal Inspection Office for the cooperative effort that brought about a successful resolution to the investigation.
