Three Interested In Judge Vacancy

Governor Scott Walker will have at least three candidates to choose from when he selects a replacement for retiring Door County Branch Two Judge Peter Diltz.  Door County Court Commissioner Jennifer Moeller, District Attorney Ray Pelrine and attorney Dave Weber have all expressed interest in the position.

Moeller was appointed Door County Family Court Commissioner and Register in Probate five years ago.  Prior to that, she was in private practice in Sturgeon Bay.  Pelrine has been a district attorney for more than 30 years, including a stint in Eau Claire County.  He has also had experience in a private practice.  Weber brings three decades of experience to the field, including more than twenty in Door County.  Weber is currently a partner in the Pinkert Law Firm in Sturgeon Bay.

The deadline to submit applications for the judge’s position to the governor was Wednesday.  Judge Diltz has said his retirement is effective May 11th.  The judgeship will be up for election in April of 2017.
