Sturgeon Bay Road Projects to be Considered Tuesday

A recommendation for road projects in Sturgeon Bay this year will be presented to the city’s Board of Public Works Tuesday at 5:30PM. The meeting will be held in the truck bay at the Sturgeon Bay Fire Station at city hall. The Paser Rating System is used to determine which streets are most in need of repair over a five year period. City Engineer Tony Depies says the recommendation calls for reconstruction of East Maple Street from Madison Avenue to Neenah Avenue, East Oak Street from Madison Avenue to Neenah Avenue, and, modification of Joliet Avenue from Maple to Juniper Street, North Hudson avenue from Hickory to Elm Street, Juniper Street by adding 200 feet of storm sewer, North 18th Avenue to include paved shoulders from Florida to Alabama Street, and Clay Banks Road to include paved shoulders from Division Road to the city limits. The project list also includes paving on Thorn Street as approved in 2014. A total of 630,000 was budgeted for road projects in 2015 and the recommended work is expected to use most, if not all of the budget.
