The City of Sturgeon Bay has received two Wisconsin Coastal Management grants of $50,000 each, for proposed projects within the city. One grant is earmarked for the Bradley Lake stormwater swale and biofiltration system. The project includes work on a storm sewer and the creation of a series of swales and biofiltration cells to capture and treat overland flow. The stormwater system will be designed to convey up to 100-year storm events, treat water that falls during common rain events, and, prevent direct drainage into Bradley Lake, more commonly referred to as Little Lake.
The second $50,000 grant is intended for phase two of the Sturgeon Bay festival waterfront, in the area of public access. The project will support construction of a festival waterfront promenade and walkway, a concrete event stage, public seat walls, public space lawn, sidewalks, and, an access driveway.
