Sturgeon Bay Man Dies From Injuries Suffered in Traffic Accident Last Week

A 47-year old Door County man who was seriously injured in a rollover accident Friday morning on Highway 57, near County D, in the Town of Union has died. The Door County Sheriff’s Department says Manuel Roman of Sturgeon Bay was pronounced dead at a Green Bay hospital Tuesday. The cause of death was a head injury sustained when he was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled. Roman was a passenger in an SUV driven by 52-year old Earlene Castelan, also of Sturgeon Bay, that overturned on the highway at about 10:30AM Friday. Sheriff Steve Delarwelle says the accident is still under investigation. Roman is Door County’s first traffic fatality of 2016.
