Bail of $3,000 cash was set for a 32-year old Sturgeon Bay man accused of felony and misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct in connection with a melee that left a city man seriously injured early Sunday morning. Artavis Wright appeared in Door County Circuit Court at a bond hearing Wednesday. Judge Peter Diltz also told Wright to maintain absolute sobriety and banned him from patronizing the Nautical Inn in downtown Sturgeon Bay. His initial appearance is Monday at 10AM. Sturgeon Bay Police say Timothy Clark was attempting to break up a fight involving several men and women when he was allegedly attacked by some of the participants in the altercation. Clark sustained a serious head injury and had to be airlifted to a Green Bay hospital where remains in a coma. Authorities reportedly have video evidence that Clark fell to the ground and did not move after being hit by Wright. They say another employee at the Nautical Inn who was attempting to break up the fight was also struck by Wright. The Sturgeon Bay Police Department is attempting to ascertain the identities of the other participants in the melee.
