The arrest of a 28-year old Sturgeon Bay man on sex-related charges has local authorities investigating if he was involved in a number of sexual assaults involving children. Duryea Johnson was arrested early Tuesday morning at Sunset Park, in connection with a sex sting involving local police. Johnson reportedly thought he was meeting a 15-year old boy at about 2AM. However, the liaison involved city police officers. During a court hearing Wednesday, Judge D. Todd Ehlers set bail at $50,000 and said the city man could not have contact with minors or view items of a sexual nature on the internet and may not leave the county. Johnson is accused of sexually assaulting young boys, possessing child pornography, and, viewing live-streamed child sexual assaults. A federal investigation is also ongoing. Johnson allegedly told investigators that his local child sexual assaults occurred over a seven year period. During the sting, he reportedly exchanged information of a sexual nature with an undercover police officer posing as a 15-year old boy. The liaison led to the early morning meeting and his arrest at the city park.
