The City of Sturgeon Bay has a new Municipal Services Director. He is James “Mike” Barker. Barker comes to Sturgeon Bay via the US Coast Guard where he served for 23 years. Having been stationed in Sturgeon Bay from 2004 to 2006, Barker and his family decided to make the city his home when his service time was over. City Clerk and Human Resources Director Stephanie Reinhardt says 22 applications were received, five candidates were interviewed, and three were granted second interviews. By a unanimous vote of an interview team, Barker was deemed the top choice. The city council concurred. Mike Barker’s first day on the job will be June 4th.
