Sturgeon Bay Designated a “Playful City”

The City of Sturgeon Bay has been designated a “2016 Playful City USA Community,” the first time it has been so honored. The national recognition program, now in its tenth year, honors cities and towns across the country for making their communities more playable. A total of 257 communities are being recognized by the playful city program this year. Communities across the country are creating innovative ways to bring back play and attract residents through family friendly activities. Interactive sidewalk art, designated play spaces on trails, and the transformation of schoolyards into active play areas are just a few examples of how cities are being more playful.
