Sturgeon Bay City Council Reorganization Tuesday

The process of implementing the results of the spring election on the Sturgeon Bay City Council will begin on Tuesday when the council meets in regular session. The noon meeting will include the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the three outgoing aldermen, Ron Vandertie in district two, Rick Wiesner in district four, and Stew Fett in district six. After the ceremony, the three newly elected council-members will take their seats, David Hayes in district two, Kelly Avenson in district four and Seth Wiederanders in district six. The newly minted council will also designate its official newspaper, currently the Door County Advocate, indicate that 11 financial institutions will act as the city’s depositories, and elect a council president. Other agenda items that could impact the city council include consideration of the council’s meeting time, the creation of an ethics committee, and a discussion on dissolving the Waterfront Redevelopment Authority.
