Sister Bay to Switch to Single Stream Recycling

The Village of Sister Bay has announced that its service contract with Going Garbage and Recycling has been renewed. As a result, the locally-owned and operated solid waste and recycling service provider will continue its relationship with the village through the end of 2019. The new contract period, while continuing services villagers are familiar with, will be eliminating the process of separating paper and comingled recycling, replacing it with a single stream system. In other words, all paper, cardboard, plastics, metal and glass are combined in a single recycling container. As part of the transition, the current configuration of a 60 gallon trash cart and two 30 gallon recycling carts per residence, will be converted to a 60 gallon single stream recycling cart and a 30 gallon trash cart. However, village residents who wish to have a 60 gallon trash cart will be able to pursue that option.
